Origin

In the sunny hills around the Albanian town of Berat, the conditions are perfect for growing olive trees. The olives are still picked manually in a traditional way.

The olives are cold pressed within a few hours of harvest, which preserves the quality, acidity, aroma, and taste of the olive oil. This results in the highest possible quality of olive oil.

Aljeta extra virgin olive oil is a blend of two ancient Albanian cultivars, the Kotruvs and the Marks. The taste of Aljeta extra virgin olive oil can be described as soft and neutral with a wonderfully slightly peppery effect at the back of your throat that lingers for a pleasantly long time.

Aljeta extra virgin olive oil is therefore very suitable for any application in the kitchen,
especially for putting the finishing touches on your salads.

Storage advice

Extra virgin olive oil is a truly natural product and naturally contains no preservatives to extend its shelf life.

The biggest enemies of olive oil are light, oxygen and temperature differences. As a result, the flavor of the olive oil may deteriorate over time or the olive oil may even become rancid.

To maintain the perfect quality of our extra virgin olive oil, the bottle should not be placed in sunlight. A constant temperature is also of the utmost importance, although the olive oil should not be stored in the refrigerator. Also make sure that the cap remains firmly on the bottle, so that oxygen cannot have a negative effect on the olive oil.
